About Us
Migration and Development Impact Foundation [known as “MDIF”] focuses on multifaceted but related areas of impact investment assistance in the areas of human capacity development, training, advocacy, migration, reintegration and reestablishment of returning migrants, fight against human trafficking and forced labour and inhuman treatment of migrants by individual, community and harsh government policies.
Aside from our main focus, we sensitize against acts of corruption and impunity in the system, train government officials towards building strong, effective institutions, and achieve national development.

Ms. Margaret Ngozi Ukegbu
(Chief Executive Office/Managing Director)
Margaret Ukegbu is a seasoned consultant on business and project development, loan recovery, and immigration matters. She was the head of the Zone / South West Zone Director, National Commission For Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.
Ms Margaret Ukegbu has always contributed her wealth of experience, knowledge, skills and influence in the areas of capacity building, training and advocacy, migration, sensitization of youths, reintegration of returnees and informing vibrant policies in the areas of migration and capacity development program. At the moment, she is poised and resolute in advancing the course through the MIDF
Olalekan Tella
(National Project Coordinator)
Olalekan Tella graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State in 2006 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007, Olalekan obtained his LLM in Rule of Law and Development from Loyola University of Chicago and has attended a number of UN trainings on Legal Drafting and International Law which include UNDP legislative drafting training in Ghana, International Organisation for Migration trainings on Migration Data Management, Counselling, Return, Readmission and Reintegration processes.
Olalekan is highly motivated, with comprehensive experience spanning fourteen years of practice, nationally and internationally. At the national level, Olalekan has worked in collaboration with multinational firms within Nigeria and from outside.
Olalekan’s international experience includes working with the African Union Commission as a legal researcher, where he participated in research on legal and development matters. He has in-depth knowledge of project design and implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
Tosin Sotande
(Salesforce Transformation Expert )
Tosin Sotande is a highly sought-after trainer for local, international and multinational corporations. He has trained over 4,000 salespeople in Nigeria. Tosin was a Lead Faculty at the Nationwide Sales training for Credit Direct Ltd which held in 2019 in conjunction with the Workforce Group. In November 2020, Business Day Newspaper featured Tosin for his contribution towards entrepreneurship and wealth creation. Tosin was the Grand prize winner of the maiden edition of International Breweries Plc Foundation’s “Kickstart Entrepreneurship Programme”. He was also selected as the top 10 finalist of Diamond Bank “Building Entrepreneurs Today” season 7 Project.
Tosin has a Business Administration background from the prestigious University of Ilorin and further studies from Enterprise Development Centre (of the Pan-Atlantic University) where he studied Entrepreneurship Management. He has worked ever since as a salesman in Real Estate, Telecoms and Printing/Branding Industry – where he successfully doubled a real estate portfolio of $1.5 million to over $3 million in only twelve months. Managed and increased VPN Telecoms line subscription of Firstbank, Unionbank, Finbank, LASAA, NNPC, RCCG, XEROX and have improved brand visibility and sales for Nike, Nivea, Glovo, Pulse and many small businesses across Nigeria.
Tosin has trained a list of local & international clientele, some of which include Custodian Insurance Plc, Hygeia HMO, Axa-Mansard, Main One Cable and at International Breweries Plc’s Kickstart Program. He has also provided long term mentorship to above 100 small businesses and over 50 individuals. Tosin Sotande has started a movement of helping people have a mindset shift towards sales and wealth creation; because of the important role of sales in the growth of an organization and the importance of wealth creation in the growth of the economy. He is an author 6 sales programs and 4 Wealth creation programs. He is happily married with kids.
Dr. Chinyere C. Okonkwo
Dr. Chinyere C. Okonkwo is a trained and licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Covenant University, Ota-Ogun State, a Master’s degree from the University of Lagos, Akoka Lagos, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as a Diploma in Social Work from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Through the Fulbright scholarship award, she did her Fellowship program (Hubert Humphrey Fellowship) at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA, USA, on Substance Abuse Education, Prevention, and Treatment. In addition to her training in substance abuse management, she was exposed to various psychological treatment modalities as well as trauma and disaster management, crisis intervention, motivational interventions, etc. She is also an internationally certified addiction professional (ICAP I & II) and a United Nations Office on Drug and Crime Global Trainer on Drug Demand Reduction.
She has over Twenty (20) years of clinical experience. She was a member of the National Psychosocial team for the management of the Ebola crisis and COVID-19 pandemic. She led the team that provided psychosocial intervention to the Chibok insurgence survivors. She has also been involved in providing psychological first aid in various crisis situations within and outside the state. She was the Principal Investigator in the US Consulate General small grant award project titled “Improving the Psychological Health and Enhancing the Vocational Skills of Female Ex-prisoners in Lagos”. Presently, she works as an Assistant Director of Clinical Psychological services and the Coordinator of psychological interventions for substance use disorder patients at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba (FNPHY) Lagos. She is the focal point for training on the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime project in the Hospital.
Dr. Chinyere Okonkwo is one of Nigeria’s consultants for Independent Counselling and Advisory Services (ICAS), a South African-based institution responsible for employee wellness in some corporate organizations in Nigeria. She has been involved in providing workplace psychological services for corporate organizations. She is the immediate past treasurer of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, Nigeria chapter. She is actively involved in community enlightenment programs on psychological health and mental health. She is particularly interested in psychological health, workplace wellness, HIV/AIDS, and substance abuse issues in children, adolescents, and adults.
